1/ST CONTENT inks a multi-year deal with Assiniboia downs

1/ST CONTENT forms a multi-year understanding with Assiniboia Downs (ASD) for global distribution and furthering horse racing in Canada.

As per the agreed terms, the entity will provide content throughout a fifty-year term. The prime factors related to the ASD term involve the Manitoba Derby, the Gold Cup, and the Winnipeg Futurity.

According to the CEO of ASD, Darren Dunn, the association will witness the disbursement of their forthcoming calendar to a fresh audience beyond Canada, creating a larger footprint.

1/ST CONTENT has connections with various Canadian race tracks, such as Woodbine, Fort Erie, and Hastings. Presently, it has struck deals with businesses involved in fixed odds, spread wagering, and commingled betting, including Flutter Entertainment, bet365, and Entain.

In the words of the Senior Vice President of 1/ST CONTENT, Simon Frazer, the link-up with ADS will be extremely fruitful for their company as this will provide the platform for offering exposure to running enthusiasts regarding the true spirit and excitement that is a crucial part of North America. Their priority is to generate increased revenue for the region.

Towards early 2024, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) decided on the schedule for the 2024 races pertaining to horse racing tracks throughout the region, as per the suggestions forwarded by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and Ontario.

Woodbine Mohawk Park, situated in Campbellville, will be responsible for taking charge of 222 days of races in a year. Clinton Raceway will have 15 days, whereas Flamboro Downs will be given 130 days and Georgian Downs 39 days.

Added tracks, which include Grand River Raceway, along with Hanover Raceway and Hiawatha Horse Park & Entertainment Center, will take charge for a period of 15 to 48 days each.
