IGT edges out Pragmatic Play for top spot in Canadian market

As per the Canadian market analysis report released by Eilers-Fantini, IGT has received a rating of 15.9% in terms of GGR, whereas Pragmatic Play falls behind with a rating of 15.4%. This is a small but significant amount, making IGT the market leader amongst operators. Evolution closely follows this with 13.5% and Light & Wonder with 11.2%.

There were none that managed a 4% ranking regarding online gaming GGR in Canada. However, a new entrant, Playtech, ranked 3.65 and left behind players like AGS, Games Global Greentube, and Everi. There is a collaboration on the cards for Everi with IGT’s PlayDigital and Global Gaming wing.

In the slot space, IGT is ruling the roost about GGR and comes in second place in table games and video poker. Regarding GGR pertaining to live casino and table games, the leader is Evolution, ranking 67.3% and 37.7%, respectively, for both games.  

In the case of preferred platforms, the desktop remained ahead with 54%, whereas mobile was more popular for bingo, lottery, and video poker segments. Currently, online mobile casinos in Canada are getting popular among users, as it allows them to play anywhere and anytime.

Sweet Bonanza, from the stable of Pragmatic Play, was at the top of the ranking list for all gaming verticals. Down the line was Evolution’s Live Dealer Roulette, followed by Sugar Rush of Pragmatic and Cash Eruption of IGT. 

Regarding rankings for slots, Pragmatic Play managed six among the top ten positions. IGT’s Blackjack stood ahead of the others in the line of table games.

As far as GGR is concerned, the Cash Eruption game of IGT took first place, followed by Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush from Pragmatic Play’s arsenal. Cleopatra from IGT was the sole game that received over 1%. It was fifth place in Evolution’s Live Dealer Roulette, with 0.91%. 

The most sought-after game was Gold Blitz Extreme from Fortune Factory. The Eilers-Fantini report monitors over 10,000 games in Canada. The US, too, shared similar data. 

Evolution won with a ranking of 19.5% of GGR, closely followed by IGT and Light & Wonder. The favorite was Blackjack from IGT, with Cash Eruption on its heels. In terms of the US, the list of top twenty five games contain slot titles, with 91.65 monitored games being the same.
