Bundesliga: Sadio Mane will Move to Bayern Munich in a £35M Deal

It may seem surprising that Jurgen Klopp, the head coach, has finally decided to part ways with Bayern Munich after shining light for six long years for the Reds, scoring 120 goals in around 269 matches he played for them. The former striker, Dean Saunders, believes it is not the correct time for the Lion of Teranga to part ways with the Reds for the sake of Bavarians.

Bavarians have been priced at 1/5 to win Bundesliga next year, while for the Champions League, they are priced at 7/1 – that they scooped in the last match in 2020, beating the PSG in the final for 1-0. Bayern certainly does not lack talent, but the Mane addition will help the club substantially in their European glory pursuit.

One of the first signings of Jurgen Klopp was Mane as the Liverpool boss in 2016, and he became one of the popular figures at Anfield and helped them earn the Premier League tag, a domestic cup, and two trophies from the Champions League last season.

Although he turned 30 last season, he did not show any sign of deceleration which appeared to be quite surprising to many for Klopp to sanction the deal. Nevertheless, Luis Diaz’s arrival earlier this year, along with the red-hot capture of Benfica’s Darwin Nunez, have further added options to Klopp’s team, who are now looking to take advantage of someone whose value may decline in the future.

Bayern Munich has Thomas Muller, Kinsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sane in the club, and Mane will certainly ramp up all levels in this competition. Last year Bayern won the Bundesliga title 10 times consecutively with Julian Nagelsmann, who became the pantheon of Bayern managers helping steer the Bundesliga title towards the club. But the main goal is to be a part of the Champions League and compete for more.

Surprisingly, the champions in German were thrown out of this competition during the quarter-final after they went down 1-0 to Villarreal, managing a 1-1 draw later. Bayern has won the league only once since 2013, considering how they have managed to gain success in winning the Bundesliga title. Mane is certainly a great capture, and he brings the experience of success – this is something the club will require to replace Robert Lewandowski, the goal machine, destined to part ways since the Pole looks for new challenges.

Many believe that the Bundesliga titles are quite uncompetitive, and achieving this will be easy for Mane. Ex-forward of Liverpool, Dean Saunders stated that he believes Mane may regret uniting with Bayern by saying that he will get goals as the club wins 5-0 each week, and only a single team is allowed to win. It is not challenging for him, and he will ruin the best 2 years of his life being a footballer. But this move is most likely to suit every party as Liverpool has made gains on a player who has proved to be sensational for the club for many years.
